Community Mycology: Growing Mushrooms on Logs

We welcome Nyeema Farms to Whitelock Community Farm to leads in an immersive hands-on experience, growing mushrooms on logs! We’ll explore the mycorrhizal network and the ways mycelium connects us all. You’ll learn how fungi operate in nature, identify which trees (and what condition they should be in) are best for mushroom cultivation, and discover the varieties most suitable for your backyard.

We’ll learn about Shiitake, Oyster, Lion’s Mane, and Reishi!

Space is limited. Registration is required!

Attendees should bring their own drill and hammer. If you do not have either, please inform us during the registration process.

Participants will have the opportunity to take an inoculated log home. Priority to residents in Whitelock/Reservoir Hill. The workshop is open to all!
